History

Point Michaud Beach is a Department of Natural Resources Beach Park. It was recognized in a province wide beach study as an area with regular beach populations and potentially dangerous surf conditions. The NSLS began supervising this beach in a partnership with the Municipality of Richmond County in 2010.

Facilities

Point Michaud Beach features a boardwalk, change houses, toilets, and parking are available. There is also a picnic area to the left of the beach.

Beach Safety

Point Michaud Beach's supervised swimming area is marked by red and yellow flags on either side of the beach. It is generally about 100 metres in width, but can vary depending on beach conditions. Point Michaud Beach can also experience rough conditions which create many currents and rips which can be dangerous for swimmers.
